Pokémon Go

Pokémon Go is a free-to-play game which is based in augmented reality and was developed by Nianty for iOS and Android devices. It was released on 6th July, 2016. In this game, you have to locate, capture, battle and train virtual creatures, called Pokémon. This game has been downloaded by more than 100 million people. Pokémon Go has changed the view of our society. For example: Before, parents didn’t want their kids to stay at home playing computer games. However, nowadays, they take fresh air and do some sport. Everybody plays: men and women, young and old, parents and sons… This game has improved our lifestyle and has got a lot of advantages, but it has got also disadvantages.

On the one hand, Pokémon Go has got a lot of advantages like parents and sons can walk together and they can have fun together hunting Pokémon and fighting between them. Moreover, it has reduced the obesity in the USA, because everybody walk in their cities in order to take more Pokémon and level up. Furthermore, people now know more about their city and its monuments due to it, because in each city there are “PokeStops” which are important monuments or buildings where you can take items, but the most interesting thing is that in each one there is a little description of it so people can pay attention to these important places in their city and learn about them.


On the other hand, Pokémon Go has got some problems as people don’t look around and there are a lot of accidents for example people who were driving their car or people who get lost in the middle of a park or a mountain searching Pokémon. Another problem is that this game can be use in order to win money by other companies, for example Mc Donald’s has said that he wants to pay Pokémon go in order to put Pokémon in their restaurants so as to have more customers. 

All in all, this game has changed our point of view. In my opinion, it has improved our lifestyle and our mind so I think it has been a very good invention. However, we have to pay attention to our environment and don’t get hypnotized by Pokémon.

Let's do it! Clean up the Mediterranean Coast!

Nowadays, it is a well-known fact that plastic is a very common material in our ordinary lives. This material is very useful, because it is very malleable, is cheap, it can stand warmth… However, this material pollutes a lot and it is difficult to recycle. So today, I am going about certain issues plastic has an impact on the Mediterranean Sea and about possible solutions to deal with this dangerous problem Let’s do it! Clean up the Mediterranean Coast!

This useful material pollutes a lot our seas in many different ways, for example, it makes our beaches dirtier and therefore the water is polluted if you want to swim. In addition, if the sea is polluted, so are fish, as in the case of turtles which eat plastic bags, because they think they are jellyfish and so they die.

Let’s do it! Cleaning up the Mediterranean Coast! is an organisation whose aim is to make everybody aware of this problem and also concerns everybody that we are all responsible of this issue and that we have to work all together in order to solve it. This group is formed by ten thousand volunteers and involves 15 countries. 

All in all, I think that we can use plastic, but we have to know that it is a double-edged sword and we have to take care of our planet. Furthermore, in my view Let’s do it! Cleaning up the Mediterranean Coast! is a very useful organisation that can correct our mistakes made in the past.

Vincent Van Gogh

Vincent Willem van Gogh was born on 30 March 1853 in Zundert, Netherlands and died on 29 July 1890 Auvers-sur-Oise, France. He committed suicided because of his mental illness, his poverty and his anxiety. He was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter whose work had influence on 20th-century art. 

He made over 21,000 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings. They include portraits, self portraits, landscapes, still lives, olive trees, cypresses, wheat fields and sunflowers.

Some of his most famous work are Starry Night, Sunflowers, Bedroom in Arles, Portrait of Dr. Gachet and Sorrow. However, his artworks weren’t valued until his death so he was very poor. Nowadays, his portraits are the most expensive in the world. For example, Self-portrait without beard was sold in New York for 71’5 million dollars.

All in all, I think he was an amazing painter who unfortunately wasn’t recognised when he was alive. Nevertheless, nowadays he is known as one of the most famous painters in our history.

Batman strikes again!!!

In this comment I am going to write about the invasion of bats in Australia. Bats are mammalsof the order Chiroptera, whose forelimbs form webbed wings, making them the only mammals naturally capable of true and sustained flight. 

This animal has invaded a town in Australia. Citizens are worried about them, because they disturb them all day. The invasion also affects the tourism, because they don’t visit that area any more.

The Australian government is thinking about some solutions in order to get rid of these bats. They will spend 2 million dollars. They have thought about making sound and chopping trees so as to chasing them away. However, ecologists say that the only solution is to wait.

Batman is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger, and first appeared in Detective Comics #27 It has been interpreted by Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale and Ben Affleck. Some famous films are Batman and Robin, Batman vs Superman, Dark Night…

All in all, in my view Australian government should do something as fast as they could, but they should take care about the environment. I also like Batman, but I prefer Iron Man as a superhero.

Brexit

It is a well-known fact that many countries want to get out of the European Union and it is also clear that there are many reasons to get out. Some of them are or were United Kingdom and Greece.

First of all, I am going to talk about the reasons. They want to leave the EU, because they say that the European Union controls them too much and they aren’t independent. They also complain that they can’t restrict the influx of immigrants. However, the main issue is the crisis, because they didn’t want to become free when there was welfare and they needed immigrants. They use the immigrants as scapegoat.

In addition, this produces that people vote to nationalist political parties such as France where the NF (the National Front) got the 25% of the votes. Consequently, immigrants lose rights and Schengen Area doesn’t work. However, they don’t want to restrict rich immigrants, only the poor ones. Another example is Italy, whose wealth is in north and wants to separate from the south.

All in all, I think EU should find a solution and these countries should be aware of the consequences of getting out of the European Union which could be very very hard. I hope that all these problems are solved soon.
